Salary: $142,000 – $206,000

What you will do

• Advise process and control owners on SOX requirements, risk assessment, and control optimization strategies.
• Drive readiness intake and assessment for new initiatives or business transformations to identify financial statement risks.
• Develop and execute detailed project plans to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of SOX readiness projects.
• Draft risk and control matrices (RCMs) based on process documentation, dataflow diagrams, and stakeholder walkthroughs.
• Manage the deficiency evaluation process, including root cause analysis and remediation monitoring.
• Apply AI-assisted workflows and tooling to perform and accelerate SOX readiness assessments across a high-volume portfolio.

Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite in the Atlanta, San Diego or Mountain View office 3 days a week.
• 7+ years of experience in Big 4 Public Accounting, risk consulting, or SOX industry experience.
• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA certification is required.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting risk, internal controls (business process and ITGC), and PCAOB requirements.
• Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) for compliance or audit work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex problems and provide data-backed recommendations.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Fintech or Software industry.
• CIA or MBA certification.
• Hands-on experience with SOX readiness automation or transformation initiatives.
