Senior Data Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (Azure/SQL Server): Designing and optimizing data integrations and cloud-based architectures for flagship client access applications with an accent on migrating legacy systems to service-based cloud architectures. Location: Remote (Must be based in Western States or Midwest)

Salary: $120,000 – $126,000

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain a robust, efficient, and compliant application data repository and integration architecture.
• Refactor and migrate legacy structures and code into cloud and service-based architectures.
• Develop frameworks, guidelines, and best practices to ensure data structures and integration processes are secure.
• Optimize data delivery and redesign infrastructure for greater scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to resolve technical issues and provide application support.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of third-party engineers through solution and code reviews.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Data Engineering experience in an oversight capacity.
• Extensive domain-specific experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including advanced T-SQL, query design, and index strategies.
• Mastery of data modeling (3NF, star/snowflake schemas, and temporal tables).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric (pipelines, Lakehouse/Warehouse) and Azure DevOps CI/CD.
• Knowledge of security and governance including RBAC, PII handling, SOC2, and GDPR.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience with MDM concepts (golden record, survivorship, matching).
• Knowledge of Service Bus / Event Grid design patterns for event-driven integrations.
