What you will do

• Design and build reliable services, APIs, and product-facing workflows.
• Work across backend systems, UI surfaces, event processing, and third-party integrations.
• Turn unclear business problems into concrete, actionable technical plans.
• Own production behavior, including monitoring, alerting, logging, and debugging.
• Collaborate with product, design, infrastructure, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Validate technical decisions using data and production evidence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend skills in Java, Scala, Kotlin, Go, or similar.
• Experience owning ambiguous technical work across multiple layers of a system.
• Proficiency with distributed systems, event-driven flows, caching, and production debugging.
• Experience building APIs and integrations backed by solid SQL and data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and event systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with React or TypeScript.
• Background in merchant- or customer-facing product work.
• Experience with third-party integrations like OAuth or account linking.
• Knowledge of Redis, caching, and queues at scale.
• Experience with analytics and event data products.
