TL;DR

Engineering Manager - Government Cloud (AWS GovCloud): Manage a team building and operating Government Cloud product features for Public Sector customers with an accent on secure isolated environments, compliance-ready audit logging and evidence collection, and authorization workflows. Focus on leading engineering delivery for FedRAMP/CMMC readiness, escalation for operational and compliance issues, and enabling secure authentication/access and least-privilege IAM in production.

What you will do

  • Manage an engineering team (3–6) of infrastructure and software engineers owning the Government Cloud offering.
  • Support engineering growth through feedback, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Plan and prioritize projects with GTM, CS, and Security to achieve and maintain authorization.
  • Act as the escalation point for operational and compliance challenges across government environments, including direct engagement with prospects/customers when needed.
  • Improve engineering processes for a compliance-regulated environment (change control and review practices).
  • Contribute to technical discussions and maintain technical familiarity via smaller engineering tasks.

Requirements

  • Citizenship & location: U.S. citizens and must perform work while located within the United States.
  • Experience in engineering management or team lead; ideally at a SaaS company, with prior people management experience.
  • Experience building or operating in compliance-regulated, government, or security-sensitive environments; familiarity with FedRAMP/CMMC context is key.
  • Strong track record as a software, infrastructure, or systems engineer (technical context to support engineering decisions).
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government is highly desired, including deploying into air-gapped or restricted networks.
  • Comfort with developer productivity and developer experience practices (e.g., build times, test reliability, and evaluating LLM usage).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with deploying and operating data services (e.g., OpenSearch) and building in-product observability tooling.
  • Experience with smart card / CAC-PIV authentication and other federal agency access methods.
