What you will do

• Research and evaluate detection models to identify fraudulent and malicious activity across Internet-scale data.
• Analyze massive datasets to uncover patterns and behaviors that distinguish adversaries from legitimate users.
• Design metrics and evaluation strategies for problems with noisy, delayed, or contested ground truth.
• Evaluate and apply emerging AI/ML research, including LLMs and generative AI, to products.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product teams to take detection approaches from research to production.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of professional experience in Data Science, ML Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Experience in fraud, abuse, and/or bot detection on large, high-velocity traffic.
• Solid fundamentals in applied statistics, machine learning, and AI methodology.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL in production environments.
• Must be based in or able to work from New York (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience building detections when ground truth is scarce or absent.
• Knowledge of how to act on detections without alerting adversaries (signal erosion).
• Pragmatic approach to complexity, favoring simple solutions over disproportionate costs.
• Disciplined programming and engineering best practices in research and production code.
