Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Clojure/Fintech): Leading the design and evolution of large-scale distributed systems for a global digital financial platform with an accent on scalable microservices, functional programming, and hexagonal architecture. Focus on building high-throughput inter-service communication using Kafka and optimizing data storage with Datomic and DynamoDB.

Location: Bogotá, Colombia (Hybrid 2–3 times/week)

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction and design of large-scale distributed systems and influence architectural decisions.
• Develop horizontally scalable microservices using Clojure, Finagle, and hexagonal architecture.
• Implement high-throughput jobs and inter-service communication utilizing Kafka.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines on AWS and manage services within Kubernetes.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and maintain a high technical bar across the team.
• Collaborate with Product and Design leaders to develop new end-to-end user experiences.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience developing digital products in complex environments.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale systems serving millions of users.
• Strong background in functional or object-oriented programming languages.
• Advanced English skills (C1).
• Must be based in Bogotá, Colombia, or eligible for the hybrid work model.
