What you will do

• Lead research on health trajectory models to predict future member states and risks using longitudinal healthcare data.
• Design next-best-action algorithms to tailor interventions based on member context and predicted paths.
• Define objective functions and reward signals to balance clinical effectiveness, fairness, and operational feasibility.
• Serve as the senior scientific lead for algorithmic rigor, setting standards for problem formulation and evaluation.
• Mentor data scientists in temporal modeling, reinforcement learning, and causal inference.
• Collaborate with MLOps and product engineering to productionize research outputs on cloud platforms.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, ML, Biostatistics, or Applied Mathematics (or Master's with significant senior experience).
• Proven record of delivering novel algorithms or high-impact ML systems in production.
• Deep expertise in time-series, longitudinal modeling, RL, causal inference, or recommender systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern ML tooling.
• Experience deploying models to production using AWS SageMaker or similar cloud platforms.
• Must be based in the USA

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, digital health, or other regulated industries.
• Peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations in ML, RL, or Health AI.
