TL;DR

Location: Hybrid; must be based in one of the approved locations: New York, NY; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; or Philadelphia, PA (in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week).

Salary: $126,500 – $161,288

What you will do

  • Collaborate with Transaction Services and Tax Due Diligence teams to lead M&A engagements.
  • Conduct buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence and advise on tax-efficient acquisitions and divestments.
  • Manage state tax exposure remediation projects and implement state and local tax internal controls.
  • Research complex tax issues and prepare succinct, deal-driven communications for clients and tax authorities.
  • Analyze tax attributes, including tax basis of assets/stock and IRC Section 382 carry forward limitations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or relevant Transaction Tax experience/law license.
  • 2–5 years of progressive state tax consulting or compliance experience in public or corporate accounting.
  • 1–3 years of specialized experience in M&A tax services or due diligence.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model (3+ days per week in office or client site) within approved US cities.
  • Proficiency in US GAAP, corporate consolidated returns, and partnership returns.
  • CPA or JD/active law license is strongly preferred.
