TL;DR
Senior Manager, Technical Accounting (U.S. GAAP/SEC): Serving as the subject-matter expert for complex, non-recurring, and emerging accounting matters, researching and documenting positions under U.S. GAAP with an accent on audit-ready financial statement accuracy and SOX-controlled processes. Focus on evaluating new transactions and pronouncements, leading technical accounting implementations, and producing technical memos and workpaper support for Form 10-Q/10-K.
Location: United States (San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles County; CA (non–San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County), Austin TX, Massachusetts; Utah (includes Utah office), Houston TX, Florida, North Carolina). Remote-eligible role.
Salary: $150,800 - $188,200 USD (Zone 1: San Francisco Bay Area CA (includes HQ), New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles County)

What you will do
- Research and evaluate the accounting impact of new or non-recurring transactions; document conclusions in technical accounting memos.
- Monitor and implement new and emerging accounting pronouncements (ASUs) and SEC guidance; maintain accounting policies.
- Prepare technical accounting analyses and memos across revenue, stock-based compensation, leases, EPS, debt, equity, and investments.
- Review/approve Chart of Accounts creation and maintenance to ensure mappings and financial statement alignment.
- Support preparation and review of workpapers for Form 10-Q/10-K, including EPS, stock-based compensation, and other non-routine items.
- Own key SOX controls in your areas, coordinate with external auditors, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States is required; no visa sponsorship is available.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; active CPA required.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant Big 4 public accounting experience (technical accounting/national office experience a plus).
- Strong, current knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements; ability to research technical issues and write clear position memos.
- Experience with technical accounting areas including stock-based compensation (ASC 718), leases (ASC 842), and revenue (ASC 606).
- Public company experience plus working understanding of SOX internal controls and the external audit process.
Nice to have
- Fintech or SaaS industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Oracle; advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using Workiva.
