TL;DR
Assistant Chief Engineer – Engine Programs (Automotive/Propulsion): Leading product execution for assigned engine programs and variants with an accent on technical requirements, business objectives, and cross-functional alignment. Focus on driving resolution of technical and launch issues, balancing performance and cost, and leading complex design and validation processes.
Location: Hybrid (Must be based in Milford, Pontiac, or Warren, Michigan). Expected to report to office at least 3 times a week.

What you will do
- Lead cross-functional engine product execution teams to meet technical requirements and business objectives.
- Own product-integrated execution deliverables, including design, development, validation, calibration, and launch readiness.
- Serve as the primary interface between senior management and the product team to align design decisions with business goals.
- Resolve technical, build, and test issues by framing options and coordinating recovery actions across functions and regions.
- Balance engine performance, emissions, durability, and cost to deliver optimal customer and vehicle outcomes.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to Design System Engineers, Application Engineers, and Lead Engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in engine engineering or propulsion product development.
- Proven production launch experience and familiarity with engine manufacturing/assembly processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, global, cross-functional engineering programs.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to report to specific Michigan locations at least 3 times a week.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leadership in ambiguous situations.
- Experience leading technical and business tradeoffs across multiple global programs or propulsion architectures.
