What you will do

• Deploy, configure, and manage scientific software and services.
• Implement and maintain various bioinformatics pipelines.
• Provide direct end-user support to computational researchers in their daily activities.
• Train users on programming languages, scientific software, and specific tools.
• Support the ICT & Data Centre Facility in bridging the gap between IT infrastructure and life science research.

Requirements

• University degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in R, Bioconductor, Python, and BioPython.
• Knowledge of bioinformatics data formats and tools (bedtools, samtools, BWA, STAR, Cellranger).
• Working knowledge of Git, GitHub, and/or GitLab.
• Fluent oral and written English and Italian.

Nice to have

• Experience with Statistical Analysis and/or Machine Learning.
• Experience as an administrator of HPC systems.
• Background working in publicly funded or private research institutes.
• Experience with Posit Team (formerly RStudio Enterprise) and SLURM job scheduler.
