Earth Observation Expert Support to Service Segment (SAR)

Location: Frascati, Italy; candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU

Salary: €50,000–€60,000 per year

What you will do

• Prepare and update documents at Service Segment level.
• Contribute to technical deliverable reviews for service development contracts.
• Support the design and development of service value chains, validation activities, and product delivery.
• Review critical Service Segment elements and support technical meetings with industry and user communities.
• Assess and document technical problems, identify priorities and critical points, and propose solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Physics.
• At least 8 years of experience with Earth Observation satellite-based applications and services, from data ingestion through end-user exploitation.
• Strong capability in designing and developing SAR and optical data-processing algorithms and processors.
• Practical experience with PS-InSAR and DS-InSAR processing, calibration, and validation of SAR interferometric products.
• Experience with SAR and optical software packages, software integration, verification and validation, Earth Observation Data Management, geodatabase design, and spatial data formats.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and eligibility to live and work in the EU are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of GIS tools for cartographic production and spatial database analysis and management.
• Experience in data quality control.
• Background in Earth Observation-based services and applications.
• Experience developing and running operational services based on SAR Earth Observation data processing.
