TL;DR
Senior Java Fullstack Engineer (Java/Spring/React): Designing and evolving platforms, APIs, and services for digital channels with an accent on scalable microservices and cloud-native technologies. Location: Hybrid in Birmingham, UK (3 days in office, 2 days remote)

What you will do
- Design and maintain scalable microservices and backend applications using Java 17 and Spring Boot.
- Build and support RESTful APIs that power digital products and customer experiences.
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, technical guidance, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and designers to deliver business outcomes.
- Contribute to frontend development activities using React and modern web technologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and help build a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale software engineering solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) and Git-based source control.
- Good understanding of cloud-native application development.
- Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Birmingham, UK.
Nice to have
- Experience with React, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, or GraphQL.
- Experience in payments, financial services, or fintech (PCI DSS, Open Banking, digital wallets).
- Experience with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
