Software Engineer (Mid-Level)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Mid-Level) (AI): Building agentic solutions, deep learning systems, and reliable software products for global-scale digital payment infrastructure with an accent on LLM integration, real-time transaction processing, and high availability. Focus on designing scalable microservices, solving complex reliability challenges at 100K+ transactions per second, and developing maintainable systems for mission-critical fintech products.

Location: Hybrid in Reading, United Kingdom, with at least 3 days per week in the office. Office-day expectations will be confirmed by the hiring manager.

What you will do

• Build agentic solutions using advanced LLMs from Anthropic, OpenAI, and other providers.
• Develop deep learning solutions for real-time transactions exceeding 100K TPS and petabyte-scale data.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, reusable software systems and web applications.
• Improve product reliability, service technology, and operational workflows across agile squads.
• Collaborate with Product, Test, DevOps, and Agile/Scrum teams on commercial products and services.
• Contribute to technology pilots, design artifacts, mentorship, and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related technology or engineering discipline.
• Expertise in at least one programming language, such as Java, C#, C++, Go, Python, Scala, or .NET.
• Experience building and deploying modern, scalable services and web applications.
• Ability to develop maintainable and efficient systems with minimal guidance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Availability to work from the Reading office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience developing agentic solutions with Cline, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Power Automate.
• Experience with microservices, HTTP, REST, JSON, relational or NoSQL databases, and Kafka.
• Proficiency with Git/Stash, Maven, Jenkins, CI/CD, automation, logging, and monitoring.
• Experience with large-scale data analytics and statistical modelling.
