What you will do
- Actively challenge first-line teams on technical provisions, reserve margins, and uncertainties to drive efficiency through better data use.
- Provide sharp oversight and advice on pricing strategies, models, and loss trends while monitoring market trends and emerging risks.
- Lead deep-dive risk reviews into GI financials and bring financial rigour to non-financial risk reviews.
- Ensure regulatory and professional compliance and play a pivotal role in shaping GI and reinsurance risk appetites.
- Collaborate with first-line teams and stakeholders across multiple business hubs.
Requirements
- Qualified actuary with several years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong background in personal lines insurance, particularly household insurance.
- Proven expertise in GI personal lines reserving and reinsurance with current, hands-on experience.
- Strong pricing skills, including advanced data analytics and price optimisation techniques.
- In-depth understanding of current and emerging insurance regulations.
- Must be based in the UK and work from one of the specified hubs (Edinburgh, Leeds, Cardiff, or Bristol).

- Data science capabilities.
- Experience with GI capital modelling.
- Previous experience in both industry and consultancy roles.
