TL;DR
Staff AI/ML Engineer (GenAI): Leading the architecture of GenAI strategy and bridging the gap between theoretical research and production-grade engineering with an accent on scalable ML systems and MLOps. Focus on architecting LLM-powered applications, designing RAG pipelines, and establishing evaluation frameworks for non-deterministic systems.
Location: Toronto, Canada or Remote (Canada)
Salary: 109,400–150,370 CAD/year

What you will do
- Design and oversee robust end-to-end ML architecture, from data ingestion and feature stores to model serving and monitoring.
- Define the long-term roadmap strategy for AI infrastructure and orchestration frameworks.
- Architect and evolve LLM-powered applications, including RAG pipelines, tool integrations, and multi-step reasoning workflows.
- Establish MLOps standards to ensure the ML ecosystem is testable, maintainable, and scalable.
- Design and implement evaluation frameworks for GenAI systems using offline benchmarks, online metrics, and human-in-the-loop feedback.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product Managers and Data Scientists to translate business problems into technical requirements.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in Canada
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years architecting and deploying production ML models at scale.
- Proven experience at a Staff or Senior level, including technical leadership and architecture ownership.
- Deep expertise in MLOps, production ML systems, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
- Strong experience with LLM architectures, RAG systems, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows.
