What you will do

  • Oversee double taxation treaty work and tax reporting completed by external Custodians.
  • Manage tax treaty documentation and supplementary information for external parties.
  • Ensure third-party outsourcers meet Service Level Agreements for OEIC tax compliance.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to file withholding tax recovery claims to increase return on investments.
  • Work on projects including OEIC closures and the adoption of automated risk management solutions.
  • Monitor foreign market tax developments and provide input on Audit enquiries.

Requirements

  • Specialist knowledge of Investment Taxes, including overseas withholding tax rules for OEICs and collective investments.
  • Proven experience in a tax function within a large corporate group or professional accounting organisation, preferably in Financial Services.
  • Experience overseeing outsourced withholding tax and OEIC tax compliance processes.
  • Expertise in attaining global double taxation treaty rates via relief at source and reclaims.
  • Must be located in the UK and able to attend office sites in Edinburgh, Bristol, Halifax, or Leeds.
  • A tax or accounting qualification is preferred.
