What you will do

• Design and implement scalable features and APIs for the booking engine using PHP.
• Lead the migration of the core platform into microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Own the performance, latency, and reliability of revenue-critical reservation services.
• Model and evolve complex data structures for availability, pricing, and inventory.
• Mentor team members through code reviews and pair programming.
• Advocate for engineering best practices, test automation, and architectural improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional PHP web application development experience.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Expert knowledge of relational databases, indexing, and search technologies.
• Strong experience with API-driven design and development.
• Business-level English fluency (verbal and written).
• Proven ability to own performance, scalability, and reliability in high-load systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Laravel or Symfony frameworks.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Background in the travel or hospitality industry.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools like Claude Code.
