WordPress Engineer (Altis Cloud)

Location: Must be based in the EMEA region

What you will do

• Plan and implement features according to specifications while prioritizing tasks.
• Develop and maintain reusable plugins, shared libraries, and internal tooling.
• Refactor code and perform bug fixes to ensure system stability.
• Communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding project progress.
• Collaborate within a small delivery team using standardized technical processes.
• Senior engineers provide project leadership and advocate for engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Must be based in the EMEA region
• In-depth experience with modern WordPress, including block themes and Site Editor.
• Strong understanding of PHP and/or JavaScript.
• Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end best practices including accessibility.
• Experience with MySQL, RESTful APIs, Git, and dependency management tools like npm and Composer.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills are essential.

Nice to have

• Interest in AI-assisted development tools and their appropriate application.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
