Risk Analyst (Fintech)

TL;DR

Risk Analyst (Fintech): Building out business planning, provisions, and reporting functions for a bank launch in Colombia with an accent on financial risk and reporting workflows. Focus on automating risk reporting (VaR, IRRBB), running ECL/IFRS 9 calculations, and optimizing capital consumption.

Location: Must be based in Colombia (Hybrid or Remote). Relocation support to Mexico is available.

What you will do

• Lead internal risk reporting processes, including market, liquidity, VaR, IRRBB, and credit risk.
• Run provisioning calculations (ECL / IFRS 9) and build the process in collaboration with Data/IT teams.
• Contribute to business planning from a risk perspective to drive capital consumption optimization.
• Develop calculations and automate recurring runs using Excel and Python.
• Prepare reporting packages and materials for investors.
• Perform data quality checks, reconciliations, and validation of results.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in banking, financial risk, or a related field.
• Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, PivotTables, large datasets).
• Python proficiency for data manipulation and automation.
• Deep understanding of banking and financial risks (Market, Liquidity, VaR, IRRBB, Credit).
• Ability to work with DWH data and basic/intermediate SQL.
• Experience defining data requirements for IT/data teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with internal risk reporting or capital optimization.
• Experience with ECL / IFRS 9 provisioning.
• Knowledge of ALM or regulatory reporting.
• Proficiency in Tableau or other BI/visualization tools.
