hirify.global supports student engagement and community programs through its First Nations House of Learning.

What you will do

  • Coordinate FNHL student engagement and community programs events, including guest lists, RSVPs, event information (speakers, programs, signage), name tags, handouts, budgets, and post-event surveys/lessons learned.
  • Support the Indigenous Student Lunch each Tuesday afternoon, including setup/teardown, lunch distribution, sponsor coordination, catering orders, promotional content, social media updates, and feedback collection.
  • Prepare event/program timelines, signage, and promotion plans; track responsibilities, deliverables, and communications.
  • Provide administrative and programming support for Musqueam and the hirify.global Youth Educational and Bridge Through Sport Program, including approvals, posters, surveys, and walking/fitness program coordination.
  • Handle routine and complex enquiries from students, staff, faculty, and Indigenous community members; redirect inquiries appropriately.
  • Update social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, website) and support student meetings and first-year retention initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school graduation plus a two-year post-secondary diploma; bachelor’s degree is an asset; 4 years related experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Proficient computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to perform word processing at 45 words per minute.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; high customer service orientation.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; maintain accuracy and attention to detail; handle confidential correspondence with tact and discretion.
  • On-site work required and ability to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends) and lift/move heavy objects (~40 lbs).
