Staff AI Engineer (API & Integrations)

Location: A Coruña, Spain; office-first hybrid work with on-site attendance several days a week

What you will do

• Own the public API and integrations framework from problem definition and system design through shipping, monitoring, and production iteration.
• Build tools that help product teams publish APIs and enable external developers and partners to create integrations.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to create consistent experiences across ATS, payroll, ERP, and other product areas.
• Engage with customers through calls, reviews, and feedback sessions to understand workflows and constraints.
• Mentor peers, document learnings, and contribute to engineering practices.
• Define and build emerging AI capabilities, including AI Skills, evaluation frameworks, RAG, and agentic workflows.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and production development experience in any language.
• Demonstrated development maturity, including solid, well-tested, production-grade code and end-to-end system ownership.
• Experience with APIs, cloud platforms, and system design.
• Experience working with legacy or monolithic systems and evolving reusable internal frameworks.
• Product-first mindset, measurable delivery impact, adaptability, and ability to abstract solutions for multiple teams and use cases.
• Ability to work from or regularly attend the A Coruña office several days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, skill-based agents, MCP, or other AI protocols.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
