What you will do

• Select the optimal manufacturing partner for managed RFQs based on capability, performance data, and current capacity.
• Manage the quote-to-order process, including issuing RFQs, reviewing quotes, and negotiating price and lead times.
• Own the order lifecycle from partner side to delivery, tracking progress and coordinating quality and packing.
• Act as the primary account manager for the UK region, conducting regular check-ins, quarterly reviews, and on-site visits.
• Drive efficiency by reducing the RFQ fan-out ratio and negotiating ongoing commercial terms with repeat partners.
• Provide real-world capability signals and feedback to internal teams to expand and improve the partner network.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK (Manchester preferred).
• Solid technical grounding in mechanical engineering, including the ability to read drawings and understand tolerances and materials.
• Strong commercial instincts and experience negotiating price, lead times, and terms with suppliers.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving operational role with high ownership and clear KPIs.
• Capability to build long-term relationships while holding partners accountable for quality and response rates.

Nice to have

• Experience working at a contract manufacturer, fabrication shop, or engineering service provider.
• Hands-on knowledge of laser cutting, bending, CNC machining, welding, surface treatment, and assembly.
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100 and supplier auditing.
• Prior experience in a scale-up, marketplace, or digital manufacturing platform.
