TL;DR

AI Engineer - FDE (GenAI): Developing and productionizing first-of-its-kind GenAI applications for customers with an accent on RAG, multi-agent systems, and LLMOps. Focus on deploying production-grade AI solutions, optimizing model performance, and influencing the Databricks product roadmap.

Location: Tokyo, Japan (Willingness to travel once every 4-8 weeks to visit customers)

What you will do

• Develop cutting-edge GenAI solutions using the latest AI research to solve complex customer problems.
• Own the production rollouts of GenAI applications for both internal and consumer-facing environments.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers across various industry domains.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to shape the product roadmap and priorities.
• Establish thought leadership by presenting at major conferences such as the Data + AI Summit.

Requirements

• Experience building GenAI applications, including RAG, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, and fine-tuning.
• Proficiency with AI tools such as HuggingFace, LangChain, and DSPy.
• Extensive industry data science experience leveraging pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.
• Experience deploying production-grade machine learning on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Native-level fluency in Japanese and professional working proficiency in English (written and verbal).
• Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (CS, Engineering, Statistics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience using the Databricks Intelligence Platform and Apache Spark for processing large-scale distributed datasets.
