Salary: $169,200 – $228,900 CAD

What you will do

• Manage and mentor a growing engineering team, fostering career development and high performance.
• Lead the development of 0-to-1 financial products from discovery through launch and stable operations.
• Establish and implement AI-augmented development practices and engineering processes.
• Collaborate with product and design stakeholders to drive technical strategy and decision-making.
• Remove roadblocks and build guardrails to ensure the team produces high-quality, impactful work.
• Participate in recruiting and hiring efforts to scale the engineering department.

Requirements

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Proven experience as a software engineer and in a leadership position guiding teams.
• Strong full-stack technical background with deep experience in Ruby on Rails or React.
• Ability to lead in an agile environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Effective written and oral communication skills for coaching and cross-functional collaboration.
• Must be able to attend the office at least 1 day per week in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo.

Nice to have

• Experience with the current stack: React, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
• Background in building zero-to-one projects from discovery to delivery.
• Familiarity with AI tools and AI-augmented development rhythms.
