What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain production-grade backend services and data pipelines in cloud environments (AWS or Alibaba Cloud).
• Build and operate pipelines for high-volume scholarly content, handling XML and semi-structured formats.
• Implement ETL/ELT processes, including metadata extraction, transformation, validation, and deduplication.
• Integrate internal systems with third-party platforms via REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML APIs.
• Ensure strict compliance with China regulatory requirements, including the Cybersecurity Law and PIPL.
• Optimize system performance and reduce manual operations through engineering automation and observability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer focusing on backend or data-intensive systems.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Java and advanced SQL/relational database expertise.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, and Kafka.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Reading/Writing and oral English proficiency for technical reviews and communication with global teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning tools (TensorFlow, SageMaker) or AI Agents development.
• Knowledge of search platforms such as Elasticsearch and the ELK stack.
• Understanding of data medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) architecture.
• Familiarity with data compliance standards like GDPR or HIPAA.
