Salary: $106,000 - $142,000

What you will do
- Build and evolve backend services that power job fulfillment and task matching.
- Decompose legacy monolith components into independent, API-first domain services.
- Manage safe migrations of millions of records and improve matching/ranking logic.
- Design and consume REST APIs while interfacing with ML-driven recommendation models.
- Utilize AI coding agents and modern tooling to accelerate development and testing.
- Own end-to-end delivery including design documentation, code reviews, and on-call rotations.
Requirements
- Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area for hybrid office attendance.
- 2+ years of experience building and operating production backend services.
- Proficiency in one or more modern languages such as Node.js, TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Java, or Go.
- Solid grasp of relational (PostgreSQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB) database modeling and querying.
- Experience designing and building REST APIs in a microservices environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex, ambiguous systems and incremental delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience with system migration or re-platforming.
- Background in payments, search, ranking, or relevance systems.
- Familiarity with experimentation and A/B testing.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
