What you will do

• Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs for the core transaction processing platform.
• Contribute to the North Star architecture by migrating consumers from legacy gateways to new API-first solutions.
• Own features end-to-end, including technical design, task estimation, delivery, testing, and monitoring.
• Utilize AI-assisted development to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation while ensuring output correctness.
• Improve the reliability, observability, and performance of Tier-1 transaction systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide constructive feedback through code and design reviews.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Seattle, WA
• 3+ years of professional experience building and maintaining production backend systems.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Kotlin, Java, or Python.
• Proficiency in designing distributed systems on AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD practices, testing, logging, and monitoring.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and drive features independently from design to delivery.

Nice to have

• Experience with payments, fintech, or domains requiring high data auditability.
• Experience with large-scale migrations of live, high-throughput systems.
