Location: Must be based in Seattle, WA; hybrid role with 50% in-office expectation
Salary: $144,000 – $180,000

What you will do
- Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs for the core transaction processing platform.
- Contribute to the North Star architecture by migrating consumers from legacy gateways to new API-first solutions.
- Own features end-to-end, including technical design, task estimation, delivery, testing, and monitoring.
- Utilize AI-assisted development to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation while ensuring output correctness.
- Improve the reliability, observability, and performance of Tier-1 transaction systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide constructive feedback through code and design reviews.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to work from Seattle, WA
- 3+ years of professional experience building and maintaining production backend systems.
- Strong programming skills in Go, Kotlin, Java, or Python.
- Proficiency in designing distributed systems on AWS.
- Experience with CI/CD practices, testing, logging, and monitoring.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and drive features independently from design to delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience with payments, fintech, or domains requiring high data auditability.
- Experience with large-scale migrations of live, high-throughput systems.
