What you will do

• Design and evolve Java-based microservices in a collaborative team environment.
• Write clean, testable code with robust unit and integration test coverage.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, contributing to on-call rotations.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for reliable deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, UX, and SRE.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, HTTP, and common web service patterns.
• Strong communication skills and a growth mindset.
• Logical problem-solving abilities and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
• Must be based in Ireland or able to work from the Galway office.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures like Kafka, SQS, or SNS.
• Understanding of observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
