System Build Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Build full automation systems from a mixture of custom and off-the-shelf parts, ranging from end effectors to multi-tonne gantries.
• Take an active role in commissioning and testing robotics systems.
• Collaborate with the design team to resolve issues and implement design changes.
• Liaise with logistics partners to coordinate system shipment.
• Perform general workshop tasks, including machinery cleaning and consumable stocking.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret 3D CAD assemblies and build directly from them.
• Professional or hobbyist familiarity with Fusion 360 or other leading CAD systems (Solidworks, Inventor, Creo, etc.).
• Must be based in or be able to work on-site in Cambridge, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLC commissioning and debugging, particularly Beckhoff TwinCAT.
• Skills in CNC machining and cabinet wiring.
• Ability to set up and program a CNC mill.
