Salary: $200,000 – $250,000 base + commission

What you will do

• Act as the technical lead through the pre- and post-sales cycles for mid-market customers.
• Design best-fit solutions, conduct technical discovery, and lead proofs-of-concept (PoCs).
• Develop firewall rules from log files and craft performance caching and delivery strategies.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support teams to create scalable solutions.
• Provide strategic guidance on internet security and performance best practices.
• Travel 20-30% of the time to meet clients and attend industry events.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Dallas or Austin
• 12+ years of experience in customer-facing sales or consulting roles.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua, or Go.
• Deep expertise in OSI Model (Layers 1-7), BGP, GRE, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
• Strong familiarity with Zero Trust Framework and SASE concepts.
• Ability to translate complex technical jargon for audiences ranging from engineers to C-level executives.

Nice to have

• Experience building or contributing to web applications.
• Detailed understanding of L3/L4/L7 firewalls and ACLs.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and browser web inspectors.
• Knowledge of CSRF, XSS, and SQLi attacks and defenses.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2 regulatory requirements.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
