What you will do
- Lead, hire, and mentor a team of QA Engineers, conducting 1:1s and performance reviews.
- Own the QA strategy and release governance across multiple product areas and squads.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex defects and release-blocking quality risks.
- Drive the automation roadmap and CI/CD integration to minimize manual regression.
- Foster a shift-left testing culture by embedding quality into design, planning, and code reviews.
- Evaluate and recommend new QA tools and practices to improve long-term quality goals.
Requirements
- 10+ years in QA, including 2-3+ years in a lead or senior role with direct people management.
- Proven experience in release governance, managing go/no-go decisions, and quality risk.
- Strong technical background in manual, API, and backend testing with automation experience.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and connect systemic risks to process improvements.
- Strong data instincts for designing metrics frameworks and reporting to senior leadership.
- Collaborative leadership style capable of influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Nice to have
- ISTQB Advanced or Expert certification.
- Experience scaling QA practices across distributed or multi-timezone teams.
- Background in conversational AI, NLP platforms, or high-volume real-time systems.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD practices.
