Location: On-site in Burlingame, California, United States. Some travel between geographically distributed engineering and manufacturing sites may be required. U.S. roles require U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, or another protected-individual status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Salary: $130,000–$150,000 per year, plus potential equity.

Develops Pulsar, a Low Earth Orbit satellite infrastructure platform for precise, resilient global positioning and navigational intelligence.
What you will do
- Create and maintain engineering documentation across spacecraft bus, payload, Guidance Navigation and Control, flight software, and subsystem teams.
- Attend design reviews and translate engineering input into interface control documents, test procedures, design specifications, and review packages.
- Own the organization, tracking, approval, and delivery of launch campaign documentation, including readiness reviews, mission assurance materials, range safety submissions, and launch reports.
- Prepare contract deliverables, reports, data packages, compliance documents, and documentation supporting FCC/NOAA licensing and orbital debris mitigation.
- Develop service-level agreements, escalation paths, system configuration documentation, manufacturing work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Establish document-control systems, templates, versioning standards, and processes across distributed engineering and manufacturing sites.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of technical writing experience in aerospace, defense, hardware manufacturing, or a similarly technical field.
- Experience working directly with engineers to extract technical content and produce accurate, actionable documentation.
- Ability to create documentation templates and review technical content for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple documentation workstreams independently in a fast-moving environment.
- For this U.S. role, eligibility under U.S. space technology export regulations is required.
- Ability to ask clarifying questions and resolve unclear requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience documenting spacecraft, satellite, or precision hardware development programs.
- Experience managing documentation for launch campaigns or other high-stakes review cycles.
- Experience supporting PDR, CDR, MRR, or similar program reviews.
- Proficiency with Confluence, Google Workspace, or similar documentation tools.
- Familiarity with manufacturing work instructions, SOPs, quality management systems, or program management.
