TL;DR
Principal Engineering Lead (DevSecOps): Establishing and leading engineering operations standards for a large-scale federal data and analytics modernization program with an accent on CI/CD, release governance, and DevSecOps practices. Focus on building secure cloud foundations, optimizing reliability and observability, and ensuring FedRAMP security compliance.
Location: Remote (USA). Must be able to pass U.S. Federal Government public trust clearance (U.S. citizens or meeting specific residency/visa requirements). Work environment operates within the Eastern time zone.
Salary: $127,500 - $170,000

What you will do
- Lead engineering operations standards, CI/CD, and release governance across the delivery model.
- Implement DevSecOps principles across the lifecycle, focusing on iterative delivery and shifting security left.
- Establish SLO/SLI frameworks and operational readiness criteria for platform and AI-enabled services.
- Drive observability and incident response paths for service health, platform reliability, and security posture.
- Coordinate cloud governance, architecture reviews, and cost management with customer stakeholders.
- Maintain engineering artifacts, IaC modules, and runbooks in customer-accessible systems of record.
Requirements
- Must pass U.S. Federal Government public trust clearance.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and iterative/continuous engineering principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience leading DevSecOps, SRE, or production operations for complex, mission-critical systems.
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, IaC, CI/CD tooling, and identity and access management (IAM).
- Knowledge of secure coding, threat modeling, and continuous monitoring practices.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting federal, public sector, or highly regulated data programs.
- Hands-on experience building and optimizing data pipelines within the Databricks platform.
- Familiarity with FISMA, NIST controls, and FedRAMP ATO support.
- Certifications such as AWS, CISSP, Security+, or SRE credentials.
