Location: Hybrid; must report to Warren, MI at least three times per week

What you will do

• Lead occupant performance and crashworthiness system integration for vehicle programs, specifically for frontal impact performance.
• Perform CAE simulations using LS-DYNA to evaluate high-speed frontal load cases and optimize restraints balancing.
• Generate vehicle design recommendations to meet safety performance targets documented in the Vehicle Technical Specifications (VTS).
• Collaborate with engineering functions, suppliers, and manufacturing to implement necessary design changes.
• Utilize advanced CAE tools and methods such as Variation Study, DOE, DFSS, and MDO to optimize safety.
• Execute and analyze post-test results at the Vehicle Proving Grounds, comparing CAE data to physical measurements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Physics.
• 5+ years of relevant post-graduate industry experience or a PhD in Engineering or Physics with relevant research experience.
• Working knowledge of CAE and Validation tools: LS-DYNA, PRIMER, METAPOST, ANSA, or HYPERWORKS.
• Strong knowledge of automotive engineering theory and application.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future (H1-B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, etc.).
• Ability to travel locally to Milford Proving Grounds.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in Mechanical, Biomechanics, Aero, Civil, Materials, or Applied Physics.
• Knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and Global Safety Requirements.
• Working knowledge of Unigraphics, TeamCenter, and VisMockup.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
