Development Chemist - R&D; Butyl Technologies

What you will do

• Develop and optimize butyl-based sealants and adhesives for industrial applications.
• Conduct product testing and application evaluations using laboratory methods.
• Support scale-up from laboratory development to manufacturing.
• Improve existing products throughout their lifecycle and evaluate new raw materials and technologies.
• Define technical specifications and quality requirements for materials and products.
• Collaborate with Technical Service, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales teams while maintaining technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in product development, formulation, or industrial chemistry.
• Knowledge of formulation chemistry, material science, and laboratory testing methods.
• Professional proficiency in German and strong English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

• Experience developing industrial adhesives and sealants, preferably with butyl technologies.
• Knowledge of analytical techniques and product performance evaluation.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Interest in innovation and sustainable product development.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
