TL;DR

Indirect Category Manager (Procurement): Managing and optimizing indirect spend categories such as professional services, marketing, and HR within the gamedev industry with an accent on strategic sourcing and supplier partnership development. Focus on driving commercial value through negotiation, risk mitigation, and the implementation of robust procurement strategies.

Location: Hybrid (Cambridge, UK). Must be based in or be able to relocate to within commuting distance of the office (2 days per week onsite). Permanent right to work in the UK is mandatory; no visa sponsorship provided.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend, including Professional Services, Marketing, Merchandise, Facilities, and HR.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, from market analysis and RFPs to supplier selection and contracting.
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to drive innovation, performance, and long-term value.
  • Deliver commercial value through cost optimization, risk mitigation, and total cost of ownership analysis.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align procurement strategies with operational needs.
  • Support the evolution of procurement policies, governance, systems, and automation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Category Management across indirect spend.
  • Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Familiarity with ERP and supplier management platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Canopy).
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills to translate spend data into insights.
  • Experience managing supplier performance and developing strategic partnerships.
  • Permanent right to work in the UK without need for sponsorship.
