TL;DR
Full-Stack Software Engineer (Internal Services): Build and improve internal deployment tooling for safe, fast robot software releases at fleet scale with an accent on end-to-end release workflows, observability, and rollout governance. Focus on strengthening CI/CD and automated testing, designing reliable internal web services and UIs, and supporting production rollouts including on-call responsibilities.
Location: USA (remote). Open to qualified candidates working remotely in Canada.
Salary: $140Kβ$190K base (US). Canada: $115Kβ$160K CAD base.

What you will do
- Build, test, and maintain internal web services and user interfaces for software release workflows across engineering, QA, and operations.
- Work across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and embedded software to support internal services end-to-end.
- Improve observability for deployments (real-time status, logs, timelines, audit trails) to diagnose rollout health and failures.
- Strengthen CI/CD, automated testing, and release safety checks to reduce operational risk.
- Implement deployment governance features such as auditability, role-based access, and privileged action tracking.
- Support production rollouts and participate in the on-call rotation for internal services.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful ownership of production systems or high-visibility internal tools.
- Strong backend experience with Node.js or TypeScript-based services.
- Strong frontend experience with TypeScript and a modern web framework (Vue preferred; React acceptable).
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, testing, and supporting production software with reliability and maintainability in mind.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including regular pair programming and candid technical feedback in reviews.
Nice to have
- Experience with deployment systems, release tooling, feature flags, fleet management, or internal developer platforms.
- Experience building/supporting CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Experience with scheduling, observability, audit trails, access control, or rollout governance.
- Experience with GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, or related infrastructure.
- Experience improving test coverage and operational telemetry (structured logging, metrics, tracing).
