What you will do

• Develop and execute public affairs and policy communications strategies to support client advocacy objectives.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, managing workstreams, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Translate complex policy and regulatory issues into clear, persuasive messaging for diverse audiences.
• Monitor and analyze political and media developments, particularly within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
• Collaborate with internal teams across digital, creative, research, and earned media to deliver integrated campaigns.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to new business development and proposal writing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, political science, public policy, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in public affairs, government affairs, political campaigns, or agency environments.
• Strong understanding of Washington, D.C. policy, media, and stakeholder dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex policy issues into clear, compelling content.
• Excellent writing, project management, and client service skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience working on energy policy, including clean energy, utilities, or infrastructure.
• Prior experience on Capitol Hill, at a trade association, or in a political campaign.
• Familiarity with digital campaign development, social media strategy, or grassroots advocacy.
