Valve Development Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Bordeaux, France (Onsite). Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are provided.

The Exploration Company develops, produces, and operates Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of solenoid isolation valves from concept through qualification.
• Define valve architecture, including poppet/seat design, actuation mechanisms, and sealing concepts.
• Design and analyze solenoid actuators, including coils, armatures, and magnetic circuits.
• Select materials and seal designs compatible with storable propellants to ensure low leakage.
• Define verification plans and coordinate qualification test campaigns with test engineers.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and electrical engineers to ensure design manufacturability and EMI/EMC compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing valves or electromechanical fluid components for space or aerospace applications.
• Proficiency in CAD (CATIA, NX, or equivalent) and mechanical analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of sealing technology (elastomer and metal) and propellant compatibility.
• Experience defining and supporting qualification test campaigns for valves.
• Familiarity with NASA, ECSS, or equivalent valve qualification standards.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Bordeaux, France.

Nice to have

• Experience in solenoid/electromagnetic actuator design (magnetic circuit and coil design).
