TL;DR
Senior Python Developer (Backend): Building and optimizing backend systems for a digital manufacturing marketplace with an accent on automated auctions, order allocation, and global logistics. Location: Hybrid (Must be based in the Netherlands)

What you will do
- Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of features to solve complex marketplace problems.
- Build APIs and backend systems powering the full order lifecycle, from supplier matching to delivery.
- Drive architectural decisions and improve the technical foundations of the platform.
- Mentor engineers and raise the bar on engineering practices within the team.
- Integrate with eventing systems and scale the platform as order volume grows.
- Collaborate with the Backend guild to set standards and improve system quality through observability and testing.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building web applications and backend services.
- Strong proficiency in Python for designing, developing, and monitoring production systems.
- Experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD environments.
- Track record of leading technical projects and mentoring other engineers.
- Must be based in the Netherlands.
Nice to have
- Experience with marketplace platforms or operational systems.
- Deep understanding of event-based architectures.
- Familiarity with Angular.
