Senior Python Developer (Backend)

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in the Netherlands)

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of features to solve complex marketplace problems.
• Build APIs and backend systems powering the full order lifecycle, from supplier matching to delivery.
• Drive architectural decisions and improve the technical foundations of the platform.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar on engineering practices within the team.
• Integrate with eventing systems and scale the platform as order volume grows.
• Collaborate with the Backend guild to set standards and improve system quality through observability and testing.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building web applications and backend services.
• Strong proficiency in Python for designing, developing, and monitoring production systems.
• Experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD environments.
• Track record of leading technical projects and mentoring other engineers.
• Must be based in the Netherlands.

Nice to have

• Experience with marketplace platforms or operational systems.
• Deep understanding of event-based architectures.
• Familiarity with Angular.
