What you will do
- Implement, maintain, and customize bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data and data delivery to customers.
- Develop professional quality reusable software, informatics resources, and automated workflows for large-scale projects.
- Design and evaluate innovative computational algorithms and statistical methods for biomedical data mining and interpretation.
- Investigate new biomedical data processing trends and technologies to contribute to research planning and manuscripts.
- Manage bioinformatics collaborations and mentor junior staff to maximize the organization's competitive advantage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Bioengineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in biomedical data analysis within an academic or industrial research environment.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Linux/UNIX, and shell scripting.
- Experience with NGS workflow processes and languages such as Cromwell/WDL or Snakemake.
- Proficiency with scientific computing and data visualization tools (MATLAB, R) and basic statistics.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience specifically in large-scale NGS operations industry environments.
- Proficiency with AWS.
