What you will do

• Implement, maintain, and customize bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data and data delivery to customers.
• Develop professional quality reusable software, informatics resources, and automated workflows for large-scale projects.
• Design and evaluate innovative computational algorithms and statistical methods for biomedical data mining and interpretation.
• Investigate new biomedical data processing trends and technologies to contribute to research planning and manuscripts.
• Manage bioinformatics collaborations and mentor junior staff to maximize the organization's competitive advantage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Bioengineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in biomedical data analysis within an academic or industrial research environment.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Linux/UNIX, and shell scripting.
• Experience with NGS workflow processes and languages such as Cromwell/WDL or Snakemake.
• Proficiency with scientific computing and data visualization tools (MATLAB, R) and basic statistics.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
• 2+ years of experience specifically in large-scale NGS operations industry environments.
• Proficiency with AWS.
