TL;DR

Vice President, Legal Affairs (Medtech): Serving as the senior legal leader for North America, responsible for the overall legal, compliance, and risk posture of the region. Focus on advising executive management on healthcare regulations, corporate governance, and complex commercial transactions while leading legal operations in a matrixed, multinational environment.

Location: Must be based in the United States (Stillwater, Minnesota)

Salary: $250,000 - $420,000 annually

What you will do

  • Serve as the principal legal advisor to the North America executive leadership team.
  • Oversee regional legal operations, including compliance programs, contract lifecycle management, and litigation strategy.
  • Manage healthcare fraud and abuse compliance, including Anti-Kickback Statute, Sunshine Act, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Partner with Regulatory, Clinical, and Quality teams to advise on FDA and Health Canada frameworks.
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements, including manufacturing, supply chain, and government contracting.
  • Ensure robust corporate governance and act as Corporate Secretary for North American entities.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited U.S. law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible legal and compliance experience in medical devices, diagnostics, or life sciences.
  • Proven experience leading legal and compliance functions for North American operations within a multinational organization.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. and Canadian regulatory frameworks (FDA, Health Canada, FCPA).
  • Demonstrated success in managing outside counsel, litigation strategy, and legal budgets.
  • Executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with Boards and senior leadership.
