Compensation: $293,000 – $325,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Build web applications, APIs, and backend services to support AI research and evaluation workflows.
• Develop tools for managing evaluation tasks, rubrics, and synthetic data generation pipelines.
• Automate evaluation runs and generate actionable reports for cross-functional teams.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across application code, model endpoints, and compute infrastructure.
• Lead migrations and improvements across research tools and evaluation systems.
• Partner with researchers and designers to translate product questions into measurable scenarios.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack expertise including web applications, APIs, and complex data models.
• Experience building effective internal tools for technical and non-technical users.
• Proficiency in debugging distributed workflows and production infrastructure.
• Strong product judgment with the ability to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete plans.
• Must be able to work from the San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Expertise in generative AI, multimodal models, or model-evaluation systems.
• Experience with synthetic data generation, simulation, or conversational AI.
• Background in automated graders, human evaluation, or reinforcement learning.
• Experience operating GPU-backed inference workloads at scale.
