Staff Software Engineer

Location: New York City, NY or Englewood Cliffs, NJ; hybrid with 3 days onsite

Salary: USD 170,000–190,000 yearly

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and performant systems that modernize legacy platforms.
• Implement and extend SaaS and low-code/no-code platforms to accelerate delivery and reduce custom development.
• Lead architectural decisions and deliver solutions aligned with business needs in collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Apply rapid prototyping, iterative development, and pragmatic engineering practices.
• Write maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering standards.
• Mentor software engineers and promote agile delivery and best practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture, serverless, and event-driven design using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with SaaS platforms, low-code/no-code tools, and Gen AI technologies.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems or integrating modern platforms.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work onsite three days per week in New York City or Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

Nice to have

• Full-stack experience across backend, frontend, cloud, and infrastructure.
• Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, Redis, ElastiCache, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Startup or fast-paced product development experience.
• Experience in media, entertainment, or digital platforms.
