Job description
TL;DR
BIM Software Developer (Python): Extracting and transforming data from Revit and IFC models via Autodesk Platform Services (APS) into analysis-ready datasets for AI agents with an accent on geometry data handling and ingestion pipelines. Focus on building robust extraction pipelines, performing geometry quality checks, and mapping BIM semantics to structured data models.

What you will do
- Extract properties, parameters, and relationships from Revit and IFC models using APS APIs.
- Transform raw model data into structured, analysis-ready formats such as Parquet, JSON, and CSV.
- Process derived geometry (SVF/SVF2, OBJ, STL, IFC) for downstream analysis and visualization.
- Develop geometry data checks, including proximity/clash detection, volume sanity, and parameter completeness.
- Build robust asynchronous ingestion pipelines managing webhooks, translation jobs, and retries for heavy models.
- Map BIM data semantics to the platform’s structured data model and identify API coverage gaps.
Requirements
- Strong backend and data engineering proficiency in Python for building extraction pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Autodesk Platform Services (APS), specifically Model Derivative and Data Management APIs.
- Fluency in BIM data, including IFC schema, Revit property/parameter models, and classifications.
- Experience with geometry data handling using libraries such as trimesh or shapely.
- Proficiency with analytical data formats (Parquet, JSON) and columnar querying.
- Must be based in the United Arab Emirates
Nice to have
- Experience with Revit plugins, Design Automation, or C#/.NET with the Revit API for BREP geometry extraction.
- Knowledge of IfcOpenShell or xBIM for IFC parsing and geometry extraction.
- Experience with APS Viewer, three.js, or DuckDB.
- Cloud infrastructure experience with containers, queues, and object storage.
- Background in architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC).
