TL;DR
Data Engineer (BI) (Databricks/BI): Designing and maintaining data warehouse infrastructure, semantic models, dashboards, and reporting with an accent on governed self-service analytics, secure data access, and reliable data pipelines. Focus on building dimensional and semantic models, standardizing metrics, implementing row-level security, and enabling analytics and AI/ML use cases through Databricks integrations.
Location: Remote; occasional travel. Preference given to East Coast candidates.

is hiring for a data engineering and business intelligence role supporting organization-wide analytics.
What you will do
- Design and maintain semantic data models, metrics layers, certified datasets, and dimensional models for reporting and self-service analytics.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain production dashboards and reports in Sigma, with additional work in Power BI and Databricks dashboards and AI-BI Genie.
- Define KPI standards, calculation logic, metric glossaries, Sigma workspace conventions, certified datasets, and governance practices.
- Build and maintain secure data pipelines and curated data products, collaborating on data quality, testing, observability, and BI issue resolution.
- Implement row-level security, Entra ID-based access controls, encryption, masking, and other data security and compliance controls.
- Support analytics and AI/ML use cases through Databricks Vector Search, Model Serving, platform integrations, user training, and stakeholder collaboration.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on data engineering and/or business intelligence experience.
- Experience with Databricks, including DAB and Materialized Views.
- 3+ years of experience designing semantic or dimensional data models and building dashboards and reports with a metrics or semantic layer.
- 3+ years of experience with analytical SQL, including ANSI SQL, T-SQL, or Spark SQL, and Python for pipelines, transformations, and automation.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- GitHub Copilot knowledge.
- Master’s degree.
- Experience working with HIPAA-compliant datasets.
