What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, focusing on performance management and career growth.
• Own the design and delivery of scalable backend systems, APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Treat backend systems as products, designing for long-term flexibility and maintainability to reduce rework.
• Partner with Product, SRE, and Operations teams to execute technical strategies and resolve production issues.
• Establish engineering best practices across code quality, testing, deployment, and system design.
• Drive the thoughtful adoption of AI tools throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in an engineering management or technical leadership role.
• Strong foundation in system design, distributed systems, and modern backend architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deployment practices.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL data storage and microservices architectures.
• Must be based in the United States.
