Principal Engineer EMC (Automotive)

What you will do

• Drive EMC input for RFQs, including requirement assessments, technical concepts, and effort and equipment cost estimates.
• Lead the technical implementation of new EMC test methods and laboratory equipment.
• Analyze international and OEM EMC standards, assess their impact, and implement compliance measures.
• Create test plans, review testing, and troubleshoot complex EMC issues with internal teams.
• Align technical expectations with customers and support project escalations.
• Provide scheduling input, technical risk assessments, and project support to the Customer Reliability Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent field; an advanced engineering degree focused on EMC is preferred.
• 10+ years of EMC qualification or related experience in the automotive industry.
• In-depth understanding of EMC standards and test methods, with advanced knowledge of EMC and test solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Business-fluent English and German at C1 level.
• Supervisory experience and EMC laboratory accreditation experience are preferred.
