Senior Java Software Engineer (Team Lead) (Automotive)

Location: Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Serbia (Remote environment with office availability in Belgrade)

What you will do

• Lead the engineering team by providing technical guidance, mentoring developers, and promoting best practices.
• Design and implement scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Drive the evolution of the SaaS platform to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on AWS-based deployments, cloud architecture, and infrastructure optimization.
• Conduct code reviews and establish development standards for clean, testable, and documented code.
• Work with Product Managers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead on complex projects.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) and cloud-native development.
• Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA.
• Must be based in or able to work from Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad, or Nis).

Nice to have

• Experience with messaging systems and asynchronous communication.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
